Help Wanted – Bookmobile Librarian/Driver

McLean-Mercer Regional Library, Riverdale, ND, is looking for a part-time Bookmobile Librarian/Driver to join our team. The bookmobile is a 30-foot diesel-powered Freightliner delivery truck, travels year-round, and has a computerized library program.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the bookmobile on 8 routes during the school year, 4 during the summer
  • Transport rotation books to and from branch libraries during scheduled routes
  • Make arrangements for routine maintenance
  • Circulate library materials to bookmobile patrons
  • Shelve books and prepare displays for the bookmobile
  • Assist patrons in locating materials
  • Other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements:

  • Standard ND driver’s license
  • High School diploma
  • Computer skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to lift & carry 30+ lbs
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to interact well with people of all ages

This part-time position is approximately 40 hours per month, up to 60 hours per month during the school year.
